Candy Apples

2 cups sugar
2/3 cup light Karo syrup
¾ cup water
1 teaspoon red food coloring
½ teaspoon cinnamon

Insert Popsicle sticks into bottoms of 6 apples. Set aside.

Place first three ingredients in a heavy saucepan and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until a soft crack stage is reached. Add food coloring and cinnamon.

Twirl apples in syrup and cool on buttered waxed paper.

NOTE: Boil pan to clean sides, then wash in hot soapy water.
