Candy's Chocolate Silk Ice Cream

½ cup sugar
1 cup mini bittersweet chocolate chips
1 cup chocolate milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup chocolate syrup
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place the sugar and chocolate chips into the container of a food processor with the metal chopping blade. Heat the chocolate milk just until bubbling around the edges. This may be done on the stovetop or in the microwave. Pour the milk into the food processor, and process until the mixture is smooth. Leave the mixture in the processor, covered, and allow it to cool completely. Add the remaining ingredients to the processor and blend until the mixture is completely incorporated. Remove the container from the food processor and place it, covered, in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or longer.

Using an electric ice cream maker, turn the machine on and pour the chilled ice cream mixture into the machine through the ingredient spout and let mix until thickened, about 25 - 30 minutes or according to the machine's manufacturer's directions. Spoon ice cream into a freezer container and store it in your freezer until ready to serve.
