1 pkg devil's food cake mix
1 small pkg instant chocolate pudding mix
4 large eggs
½ cup vegetable oil
1-1/4 cups cola soft drink
Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl, beat eggs and oil at low speed until blended. Add mixes, and blend on low speed until fully moistened. Gradually add cola, a little at a time, until completely blended. Increase speed to medium, and beat for two minutes. Pour batter into a prepared 9" x 13" pan.
Bake for 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes.
If desired, frost cake with Chocolate Cola Frosting (recipe below). Cool completely.
½ cup butter
½ cup cola soft drink
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups confectioner's sugar, sifted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Combine first three ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter melts. DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and vanilla until well incorporated. Add pecans and stir until well mixed.
