Why Chocolate Makes Them Deliriously Happy

Merely saying the word "bon-bon" can deplete a man's testerone levels. But for womankind, bonbons supply necessary calories through an ideal vehicle. "Men and women like fat, but women like theirs mixed with carbohydrates--as in sweets and cookies--while men like theirs laced with protein--as in hot dogs and hamburgers," says anthropoligist Helen Fisher, Ph.D., author of "Anatomy of Love." This difference may have developed because men hunted for protein while women gathered carbohydrates. However, scientists say the fact that women expect chocolate on their birthdays, then complain about being fat, is simply a scientific aberration. Like the platypus.

Their Perplexing Predilection For Potpourri
The old adage is true. He who lies down with woman, wakes up with potpourri. But as strange as it may sound, the appeal of dried flower petals stems back millions of years, when men first cultivated skills to hunt, and women honed the ability to gather. As hunters, men were forced to scan the landscape for moving objects," says Fisher. "Women, however, focused on stationary objects because that was what was required when they went gathering."

So, as men developed skills at tracking stuff that moves, women took a liking to small, colorful, plantlike objects. Hence, the affinity for potpourri and, for that matter, Regis Philbin.

The Uncanny Allure of Their Breasts
Many researchers have pondered this strange effect: Some say that healthy breasts signify a mate ideal for childbearing. (That was my honey's idea...LOL) Others report that breasts make women easier to spot from afar--good for primitive suitors with poor eyesight. But after much study, I concluded that breasts make it easier for us feminine creatures to win arguments, break down men's resolve, and convince them to buy us more perfume :)

Why They Cross Their Legs At The Knees
First, unlike male anatomy, there's no protuberance lurking below, which makes this maneuver much, much easier. Women's hips are oriented differently, making their legs easier to cross at the knees. Men, however, cross their legs in a figure-four position-- because their hips are much closer together and, again, because they've got to give their little pal some breathing room. Also, women cross their legs at the knees because they prefer men to maintain eye contact with them during conversation :)
