I hope you have enjoyed the "Discovering Venus" series, and maybe got a few laughs from it. Although the material was meant to be humorous, there really is a lot of truth to what was written. There's no doubt about it, women are a completely different species from men. I'm not so sure the term "weaker sex" truly applies. I have known many men in many different situations which required emotional strength, and they crumbled under pressure. Women are, as a general rule, stronger emotionally, and can handle a crisis much easier than men. We tend to fall apart after the crisis is over. However, I have also known many men who have reacted the same way. It just depends on the individual.

One thing for sure, generally men are the physically strong ones, the ones more mechanically inclined. Women are the softer ones---the ones who are easily brought to tears by a gift given from the heart, or sweet words from the men they love. Well, let me tell you, men are just as mushy as us gals when the tables are turned. When it comes to the heart, there really is no difference. It's just a matter of whether the feelings toward one another are genuine or not.

Women tend to look down the road before them. Men tend to look no further than the here and now. This is a major difference which can cause a great deal of confusion in a relationship. The key is communication and honesty.

Years ago when I was a teenager discovering the opposite sex, my mother passed along to me some wonderful advice that is still very true today. I want to share it with you.

How To Preserve A Husband

Be careful of your selection; do not choose too young, and take only such as have been raised in a good moral atmosphere. Some insist on keeping them in hot water. This only makes them sour, hard and sometimes bitter. Even poor varieties may be made sweet, tender and good by garnishing them with patience, well-sweetened with smiles, and flavored with kisses to taste; then wrap them in a mantle of charity, keep warm with a steady fire of domestic devotion and serve with peaches and cream. When thus prepared they will keep for years.

If God be for us, who can be against us?
