When our days have finally ended
And we join the other dead
Will we sorrow for our angers
And the things we left unsaid?
When we go to join our Maker
Will he turn from us instead,
As we hunger for the knowledge
In the Book, oft left unread?
Who's to strengthen our behavior
Putting love into our mind?
Who's to lead us to the pastures
That we hope someday to find?
How can we, so boldly human,
Leave this wanton world behind
Letting Jesus show us glory
Living right, fair, just and kind?
Letting go of our possessions
Our attempts of getting more
Seeking truth and light and honor
As we knock on Heaven's door.
As we share our days of glory
And forget what hate is for
Let us praise the Son he gave us . . .
Then we'll meet on Heaven's shore.
