Honorable Husband

Honorable Husband of mine so true How blessed I am that you are returned to me Once again to be sheltered in your arms. Is this not Heaven? I know in my consciousness That we still abide with Mother Earth But as I close my eyes And feel the rhythm of your heart At once with mine I sense that we are not part of the Earth at all, Rather a part of a universe So vast that no eye can see And no mind can conceive the whole of it... And yet we are alone in our world, Left to nurture each other's spirit In peace and solitude.

O, my Husband, strong though I may be, I feel sometimes my heart may drown in fear When you must go to hunt. In my aloneness I lift my eyes to the Heavens And pray to your Great Spirit Guide To keep you strong and alert and safe. My soul whispers to Him your name And the High Moon responds, Reflecting its light on my face Wet with tears, saying, "Rising Star is protected. "Be brave, my daughter."

And so once again The Moon has spoken His truth And you are mine once more. Are you weary? Let us return to our quiet Universe of Oneness And let our spirits speak one to another In our dreams as the fire dims And the Night covers the Earth With its cool, dark blanket. Together we will greet the sun, Still entwined in our lover's embrace, Awakening to the sweet call of the gentle dove... And as our smiles reflect in each other's eyes We will know once again all is well.
